I dunno why but seeing that Vergil chair makes me smile. :)
Despite those bugs, which are quite understandable in a game jam game, it's a pretty good game! Good work!
Also, the various counters for payout, captivation, sleight, etc. tick up very slowly at a rate of about 1000/minute rather than immediately updating after playing your hand. I hit 25k payout per show pretty frequently in the mid game, which takes almost half an hour to tick up and another half to drain back down to zero. In my final show, had captivation upwards of half a million, which would theoretically take literally 10 hours to sit through filling up and then drain down if the game didn't just end then. Probably best to just have them update immediately rather than tick up one at a time.
or maybe they should make the amount it ticks down be a percentage
Cards that have a delayed effect (Misdirection, Encore) seem to have no effect in the current build. Tested them multiple times in both the web and downloadable versions of the game. Pretty annoying as those are a significant part of your starting deck.
(in case it matters, I was following Encore Act 1 with either Rolling Up Sleeves or Making An Entrance in the same slot in Act 2)
It's a bit weirdly formatted and the hand goes really slow, but the base game is fine, I just wish I was able to see my captivation level and a few other things, because regardless of if I was in full screen or not the number was always hidden.
That and I found it very hard to understand what each stat did or was supposed to do, maybe have a little indicator to the side of the card with information about each keyword on the card.
